An intimate look at the fantastic show we were treated to by CapitalBop this past Saturday. Jazz connoisseurs and novices alike were glued to their seats past midnight!
Our window display designed by HU students was in full glory, serving as a backdrop.
Above, guitar experimentalist Anthony Pirog and below, tenor saxophonist Brian Settles mid-jam session.
Make sure to keep your ears perked for our next event here at Meeps and don’t miss CapitolBop’s next show!

MEEPS just completed its metamorphosis and welcomes DC into the loving arms of its newly unveiled Cosmic Costume Room. Check out this Washingtonian blog on the costume room–and see what costumes the writers put together on their first visit.

With men’s, women’s, and kids’ vintage costumes, this curious cross between a futuristic boudoir and the coat check at Studio 54 is sure to satiate the needs of any partygoer. Complete with wigs, masks and feather boas for all occasions, the room opens just in time for all your Halloween and fabulous pageantry needs. Celebrate the Summer of ‘69, rock out in Gangnam style, or pay homage to ‘80s glamour with pieces from the year-round Cosmic Costume Room.
MEEPS also invites the public to see the new Halloween storefront window, erected in partnership with Professor Mikki Taylor of Howard University’s Visual Merchandising students, who designed and brought to life a vision of bubble, bubble, toil and trouble.
Please join us October 16 for an evening of Dia de los Muertos-themed libation and celebration as we celebrate our Cosmic Costume Room in style.
